Parkiboksing
Parkiboksing at PowerMind Boxing
At PowerMind Boxing, we believe that physical activity should be accessible to everyone. That is why, through our Parkiboksing sessions, we want to introduce people living with Parkinson’s disease to this sport in an enjoyable and supportive environment.
Parkiboksing is an adapted form of exercise based on English boxing techniques. It is a training programme that focuses on movement, enjoyment and personal progress.
During our Parkiboksing sessions, we combine adapted boxing exercises with movements that stimulate various physical and mental skills. The training is tailored to each participant’s abilities and pace.
We focus on several key areas, including:
-
Coordination and balance: developing controlled and purposeful movements.
-
Mobility and posture: keeping the body moving in an adapted and accessible way.
-
Concentration and reaction time: practising different movements and exercises.
-
Self-confidence and enjoyment: discovering new skills and exercising together in a positive environment.
Who is Parkiboksing for?
Parkiboksing is particularly aimed at people living with Parkinson’s disease who want to stay active in an adapted way and discover new ways to move.
No previous boxing experience is required. We take everyone’s abilities, personal limits and pace into account. Safety, respect and enjoyment always come first.
Are you unsure whether Parkiboksing is right for you? Feel free to discuss it with your treating physician.
